Hemp

aka industrial hemp

Hemp is legally defined under the 2018 Farm Bill as Cannabis sativa L. and any part of it containing not more than 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight. Plants meeting this threshold are agricultural commodities — not controlled substances — and their derivatives (including THCA flower, where Delta-9 stays under 0.3%) are federally legal. Hemp can be cultivated for fiber, seed, or cannabinoid extraction.

Example: All hemp products on this site test at or below the 0.3% Delta-9 federal threshold.

Etymology: Old English 'hænep,' Proto-Germanic 'hanapiz.'
