Humulene
aka alpha-humulene
Humulene is a hoppy, earthy terpene found in cannabis and in the hops plant Humulus lupulus. It contributes to the 'old-school' earthy aroma of classic landrace strains and many OG-family cultivars. Humulene is often present alongside caryophyllene and myrcene in cannabis terpene profiles.
Example: The humulene gives this cut that hoppy, almost-beer-like nose.
Etymology: Named for Humulus lupulus, the hops plant in which it was first identified.
