Trichomes

Trichomes are the small mushroom-shaped resin glands on the surface of cannabis flower that produce and store cannabinoids and terpenes. The frosty, sparkly appearance of premium flower is dense trichome coverage. Mature, milky-white trichomes are a key visual cue for harvest readiness.
Example: Look at the trichomes on this exotic — they're glittering.
Etymology: From Greek 'tríchōma' meaning hair or growth of hair.
